Vietnam to Spend US$117.6M for Nuclear Science, Technology Training Program
Vietnam will spend VND2 trillion (US$117.6 million) for a nuclear science and technology training program to provide enough human sources for its first nuclear power plant by 2020, the state-run newspapers said.
The Ministry of Education and Training will conduct the project in seven universities nationwide, including Hanoi Technology University, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Electricity University, Da Lat University, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and Institute of Physics.
In 2013, the Southeast Asian country will kick off construction of its US$9 billion first nuclear power plants with a combined capacity of 4,000 MW in central Ninh Thuan province. (Saigon Liberation, Science & Life)
