Vietnam Steel Facing Dumping Investigation in India
India has decided to conduct a dumping investigation into hot rolled steel and steel sheet imported from Vietnam and other countries, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) after receiving a report from India Apr 9.
Local businesses can send their opinions to the Self-defense General Department under the Indian Finance Ministry within 30 days since the investigation announcement, noted the MoIT.
Domestic steel exporters should actively deal with this lawsuit, added the ministry.
Since mid-March India has imposed anti-dumping taxes on three products originated from Vietnam, including yarns and fabrics, compact discs-recordable (CD-R) and compact bulbs.
Pham Chi Cuong, chairman of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) said that the U.S. is set to start an anti-dumping suit against steel pipe imported from six countries, including Vietnam. (News, Saigon Economic Times)
