The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has submitted a plan on stimulating consumption demand and promoting use of domestically-made goods to the government for approval, the Communist Party of Vietnam said on its website.

The plan aims to boost payment capacity, encourage consumption of locally-made products in order to maintain production and curb economic downturn.

It will focus on assisting farmers, poor households, students, and workers at factories, concentrated industrial parks.

Under the plan, farmers will get consumption credit assistance, especially input materials for agricultural production such as fertilizer, breed, and agricultural engineering machines.

Farmers will be also encouraged to buy consumer goods via preferential loans or zero-interest loans. (cpv.org.vn)
