GALO Architects: Coming to the Best Possible Way

 

GALO takes several reasons as which we have decided to open its permanent office in Vietnam to attend to its business in Asia.

 

First, that the partners architects know well the country, for their multiple trips (from the year 2001 until now), and they could have observed with attention the progressive change that is given in the Vietnamese society, in the relating thing to its opening to the rest of the world.

 

Vietnam is a country that has a great tour of economic growth in the next years, to turn into other one of the called "Asian tigers" like other countries of the zone.

 

We are sure on the fact that GALO can contribute with its great experience in Architecture and Town Planning, so demanded by the local companies to write all these big projects that they have to develop in the next years and that probably are too complex for the experience of many of the local architects.

And finally for that we believe that Spain and Vietnam, they are two similar countries in the way of understanding the life of their inhabitants (not like it happens with China or Korea), which allows us to understand perfectly the needs of its peoples at the moment of undertaking the projects in Vietnam.

 

In order to prepare one's personal vision for the urban design and development of a city, one must have a good sense of what his/her city currently is.  The description of one's personal image of his/her city is important as a means to determine differences in perceptions of images.  While I might find Ho Chi Minh city to be a very stimulating intensive environment, my neighbor might think that Ho Chi Minh city is currently too messy and chaotic.  It is these differences in perceptions that are important to lay out and explore in order to determine the basis for change in the environment that people can agree upon and make happen.

In GALO, we have all specialities of projects and we have done a lot of projects of different kinds. So we don’t have a favourite kind of project to develop here in Vietnam, but we suspect that we are going to make especially Town Planning and Housing, maybe some Hotels and Resorts but not too much Offices buildings because it’s a bad moment to invest in this kind of projects for the world crisis

 It is a question difficult to answer for us, because we consider the local architects to be friends and wish that it could continue being, but we think that the quality of some projects in Vietnam is very deficient.

It is not any more than to see the constructed buildings, to understand that a concept does not exist of projecting good Architecture, but rather, of constructing buildings that "look like something that the client searches" but that in fact they do not have any architectural value and work badly like buildings.

The same can be applied to the Town Planning.

When in GALO we begin with a project, we need to know the program that the client demands for his building and sometimes it is possible to be interesting to know his tastes in what concerns the final aspect that he wish for his building, but we are never going to copy a front of another building or are going to try to join different pieces of other buildings to do a mixture, we are going to create completely new Architecture, which one will adapt perfectly to the needs of the clients (that sometimes they do not know with accuracy which are).

 

We are going to help to define his building to the measure (as a good tailor) and to creating interesting architectural spaces that sure will surprise pleasingly our clients.

 

We are going to do good and quality Architecture & Town Planning.

 

We are going to think the projects from zero and to apply all our experience to come to the best possible result, this one is always our way of working in GALO.
