ACB Announces Pretax Profit of VND665B by May 14
Asian Commercial Bank (ACB), the biggest listed bank in Vietnam, made pretax profit of VND665 billion by May 14, fulfilling 26.6 per cent of its 2009 target, Ly Xuan Hai, the general director of ACB, announced.
As of May 14, the HCM City-based bank posted total assets of VND 131 trillion, with private and business deposits making up VND101 trillion. It is currently lending VND44 trillion, of which VND6 trillion are government-subsidized loans.
The bank did not give the comparative figure of last year.
ACB plans to issue VND11 trillion of bonds this year, including VND3 trillion worth of dollar-denominated bonds.
Hai added that the bank would open an additional 40 branches and transaction offices by late this year, increasing the total to 233 nationwide. (CafeF)
