2 Cos to Build Cement Grinding Station in South Vietnam
The Vietnamese Ministry of Construction has given green light to the Vietnam Urban and Industrial Zone Development Investment Corporation (IDICO) and the Midland Construction Corporation to build a cement grinding station in southern Ba Ria Vung Tau province, said Nguyen Tran Nam, Deputy Minister.
The station to be located in the My Xuan A Industrial Park, part of the Song Gianh cement plant in the second phase, is expected to partly ease the current cement shortage in southern provinces, said the investors without giving capacity of the station.
Southern Vietnam is forecast to lack of between 12 million and 12.5 million tons of cement in 2009, which need to be transported from the north as its supply capacity now stands low at 5.5 million tons, said the Vietnam Cement Association.
The region’s cement consumption is estimate at 17.5 million-18 million tons this year but five cement plants in the region have a combined capacity of 5.5 million tons/year, elaborated the association. (Investment)
