U.S. LeTourneau Technologies Inc. on Monday signed a consulting agreement with the oil drill maker PV Shipyard- the state-run oil monopoly PetroVietnam group’s affiliate-for the design and construction of a 60-meter self-lifting oilrig platform costing over US$180 million in Vietnam, the Youth newspaper reported.

Information about the value of the consulting contract, however, has not yet been made available.

The oilrig, which is expected to help PetroVietnam in oil and gas exploration and production, will be kicked off in June with expected completion after 32 months of construction.

The automatic platform, to be floated at sea, represents Vietnam’s first mechanically engineered product that uses high-level technology. (Labor, Youth)
