Donation Agreement to Provide Scholarships to Underprivileged Children
Chevron, Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd.,(MOECO) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) signed a Donation Agreement with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) to provide scholarships to underprivileged children in the Mekong Delta. According to the Agreement, the three energy companies, who are investors in an offshore gas project that will fuel power plants in Ca Mau and Can Tho, will support the NFVC’s education program by providing 700 scholarships to children in Ca Mau, Kien Giang, and Can Tho. Total value of the scholarships is approximately VND970 million (US$55,000).
Speaking at the event, Chevron Vietnam President, Hank Tomlinson said Chevron is committed to building partnerships with the Government, the community, and with NGOs like the NFVC in Vietnam. The partnerships are part of Chevron’s goal to be the Partner of Choice and support our strategy to develop energy that contributes to economic and social progress, as well as to assist the company to achieve its business goals, Mr Tomlinson said.
“Chevron’s goal for this sponsorship is to build better futures by expanding access to education for children in the Mekong Delta.”
