Vietnam to Exempt VAT for Aviation, Maritime Transport Services
The Finance Ministry has just decided to exempt value added tax (VAT) for aviation and maritime transport services from July 16 this year.
The MOF’s move is to facilitate the local aviation industry amid the global turmoil, analysts said.
The VAT exemption will be applied to the transport services which have cargo and passenger transport contracts in line with the country’s current laws.
The services include food supply on flights, flight security, passenger and baggage security check, ship towing and loading.
Other services are ship hold cleaning, rescue, luggage conveyor, ground technical and commercial services and several others.
The ministry has recently announced the supplementary list of thousands of commodities to get VAT halved until the end of this year, state media reported. (Transport, The People)
