Vietnam Jan-May Exports to Canada Fall 10 per cent to US$212.56M

Vietnam’s goods exports to Canada fell 10 per cent on-year to US$212.56 million in the first five months of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
Among the country’s export staples, garments and textiles topped the list with US$58.699 million, followed by footwear with US$35.44 million.
 
Vietnam’s some main exports to the foreign country saw on-year decreases in value including seafood of US$30.627 million, down 20 per cent, wood furniture of US$14.91 million, down 35 per cent, cashew nut of US$3.977 million, down 72 per cent and rubber of US$444,316, down 85.3 per cent.
 
In 2008, Vietnam shipped US$656.38 million worth of goods to Canada, said the ministry without giving on-year comparison figures. (Vinanet)
