Vietnamese Blue Dragon Soon to be Exported to Japan
Hoang Huy Ltd Co. in the Mekong Delta province of Long An will supply 1,800 tons of blue dragon fruit annually for the Japanese Yasaka fruit heat-treatment factory in Binh Duong province over the next five years for export to Japan.
The blue dragon fruit will be treated by modern technology that will help preserve the vitamins in the fruit, said Nguyen Khac Huy director of Hoang Huy Co.
Huy Hoang Co. has provided financial support for more than 30 farmers to grow blue dragon fruit on a total of 50 hectares with an annual output of 2,000 tons.
The company is planning to develop another 50 ha for expansion of the blue dragon plantation. (Vietnam Economic Times)
