The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Vietnam’s Trade Promotion Department will cooperate to organize the 3rd supporting industries exhibition in Hanoi on November 12-13.

More than 120 Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises will display components and accessories relating to the making of automobile, motorbike, electricity, electronics, engineering, and chemicals.

Addressing a recent workshop themed “Vietnam’s Supporting Industry – Situation and Solutions”, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba said Vietnam’s supporting industries are still weak, but full of potential.

Economists analyzed the development of supporting industries would help foreign businesses in Vietnam reduce production cost and raise competitive edge of the country’s exports, as well as increase the localization rate of products.

The Vietnamese government is mulling over to exempt partially corporate income tax for companies which invest into the supporting industry in a bid to boost the sector, said Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang. (New Hanoi)
