The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has just announced temporary anti-dumping tax rates on waterproof rubber-soled shoes originating from Vietnam.

Under the CBSA’s latest decision, three Vietnamese footwear producers, namely Vinh Long Shoes, Pou Yuen Vietnam, and Ful-gent Sun, will be imposed with the rates of 15.8%, 7.3%, and 3.4%, respectively.

Only State-way Vietnam enjoys a tax of 0%.

Starting to be effective on August 26, the duties will be valid till late September this year when the Canadian International Trade Tribunal would make an order or finding on its inquiry into the question of harm suffered by the domestic industry.

Last year, Vietnam exported $93 million worth of footwear to Canada. (Vietnam Economic Times)
