Vietnam Party Chief to Tour Australia, New Zealand

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Nong Duc Manh, will pay an official visit to Australia and New Zealand soon, the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations announced September 3.
 
Party Chief Manh will make his tour at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and New Zealand’s Prime Minister John Key.
 
The announcement, however, gave no details of Manh’s trip. 
 
Trade between Vietnam and Australia rose 21% from a year ago to US$5.6 billion in 2008.
 
Trade between Vietnam and New Zealand, however, still remains modest, standing at only US$313 million last year. (The People, People’s Army)
