The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) under the Thai Government co-organized a Vietnam-Thailand exhibition industry forum in Hanoi on August 25, aiming to boost trade, investment and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

This was a great opportunity for domestic businesses to gain experience in trade, investment and tourism promotion from Thai firms and exhibition organizers.

During the forum, the TCEB also updated information on its policies and financial support programs for Vietnam from now through September 2010.

The TCEB will also hold a similar seminar in Danang on August 26 and another seminar in Ho Chi Minh City on August 28.

Last year, Vietnam exported US$1.3 billion worth of goods to Thailand and imported US$4.9 billion worth of goods from the country.

Thailand has to date invested in 170 projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital over US$6 billion, ranking eighth among foreign investors in Vietnam and third among ASEAN investors. (Vietnam & World Economy, Labor)
