Vinacomin to Generate 4.65B kWh of Electricity in 2010
The state-owned Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) expects to produce a total of 4.65 billion kWh of electricity next year, the group said.
Vinacomin has recently received approval from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to establish its own power corporation to facilitate power supply for its coal mining activities in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The group also plans to build small-sized power stations to serve its coal mines.
It plans to operate seven or eight new coal-fired power plants with a combined capacity of 2,900 MW in 2010 with electricity output to rise 20%. (Vinacomin)
