Vietnam Refined Oil Imports Down 55.4% to US$4B in Jan-August
Vietnam spent US$4 billion on importing 8.746 million metric tons of petroleum products in the first eight months of this year, down 55.4% from a year earlier in value and down 8.6% in volume, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
The country imported 878,220 metric tons of the products worth US$490.42 million in August, down 20% and 55.66% from last year, respectively.
Among the products, the nation imported 439,370 tons of diesel worth US$248.85 million, 216,870 tons of gasoline valued at US$134.7 million in August.
Vietnam’s oil refinery of Dung Quat has supplied 162,116 tons of gasoline A92, 128,785 tons of diesel oil, 36,087 tons of kerosene, 9,972 tons of fuel oil and 35,683 of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the domestic market since it started operation on February 22.
