Vietnam Ranks Fourth in CCE Growth in Asia-Pacific: Visa

Vietnam ranked the fourth in Asia-Pacific in commercial consumption expenditure (CCE) growth rate in 2008, according to the U.S.-based Visa Inc.’s press release on annual global CCE index posted on website of theasianbanker.com Oct 13.
 
The country’s commercial spending increased by 29.4% on-year to US$121 billion last year, from US$94 billion in 2007, Visa said on its press release.
 
The Asian-Pacific region’s CCE rose to US$23.4 trillion in 2008, an on-year increase of 13.5%, becoming the second highest contributor to the CCE index.
 
China reported the biggest commercial spending in the region with US$7.2 trillion, followed by Japan with US$6.2 trillion, South Korea with US$2.1 trillion and Australia with US$1.5 trillion last year. (theasianbanker.com, News)
