Unilever Vietnam Promotes Health Protection for Children

The closing conference of Program “Enhancing dissemination of personal hygiene and health protection for pre-school children in 2009” recently took place in Thua Thien - Hue province. This activity was within the framework of project "Dissemination of personal hygiene and health protection for pre-school children", which was implemented by Unilever Vietnam Fund in collaboration with the Pre-school Department (Ministry of Education and Training) in 2009, including new deployment in five North Central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Ha Giang, and maintenance of the second year operation in five Northern mountainous provinces of Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, and Ha Giang.
 
According to the Summary Report by the Pre-School Education Department, Ministry of Education & Training, more than 16,439 children and their parents and all the teachers in 70 nursery schools in the five North Central provinces and five North mountainous provinces in the year 2009 were communicated knowledge and practice of personal hygiene, living environment, especially the habit of hand washing with soap to prevent diseases spreadable by infected and contaminated hands such as diarrhea, bird flu, H1N1, and parasites ..., keeping children sufficiently healthy for study and growth.
 
In 2010, Unilever Vietnam Fund will sponsor the Program’s implementation in five provinces in the Red River delta as well as maintain and develop the project results of 2009 in the five North Central provinces.
