PetroVietnam Affiliate to Provide Oil Service Vessel for Talisman
PetroVietnam Technical Services JSC (PTSC), an affiliate of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), on April 13 signed a deal worth $35 million to provide an oil service vessel for Talisman Malaysia.
The dynamic positioning vessel DP2 is expected to facilitate Talisman’s oil and gas production within five years at six offshore blocks with a total area of 1,350 square kilometers in PM3-CAA overlapping zone between Vietnam and Malaysia.
Canada-headquartered Talisman, an independent upstream oil and gas company, has poured billions of CAD into the project, which is the Canadian largest project in Asia.
PTSC currently owns a fleet of 24 vessels of all kinds and is a leading provider of oil and gas services in Vietnam, accounting for 90% of the country’s market share.
The firm expects to expand its fleet to 100 vessels by 2025 so as to control the domestic market and make up 30 % of ASEAN region’s market share. (VNA)
