Starting as a small business with modest capital, a small workforce, little experience and poor equipment, Dak Lak province-based Phu Xuan Construction Co., Ltd has worked tirelessly to become a reliable builder with growing operating scale and capital.
In the past 15 years, Phu Xuan has determined to focus on its strong competencies like civil and industrial construction, road and bridge construction, interior and exterior decoration, water irrigation and electrical construction, and hotel, restaurant and travel services in which construction and investment fields are the top priority. The company has undertaken hundreds of construction projects in Dak Lak and other provinces. Many projects have been highly appreciated by central and industry authorities, including Buon Ma Thuot Victory Monument and Nguyen Du School.

In the past five years, especially when the global financial and economic crisis occurred, the market has been volatile. But, thanks to responsive and appropriate solutions, the company has managed to sustain a stable operation, create jobs for local people and increase incomes for its employees.

A testament to the ability of Phu Xuan to navigate the financial storm is the uninterrupted continuation of ongoing projects. Despite market fluctuations, work on the Phu Xuan Trading Centre on Phan Chu Trinh Street, Buon Ma Thuot City is being carried out without interruption. This relatively large project plays a significant role in the development of Phu Xuan as it is expected to create a driving force for Phu Xuan to expand its involvement in real estate construction and the trading sector. The VND200 billion (US$10.8 million) Phu Xuan Trading Centre consists of a 14-storey hotel, a three-storey supermarket and 30 selling booths. The company expects to put the project into use in 2011.

Mr Truong Cong Luu, President of the Board of Members of Phu Xuan Construction Co., Ltd, said: Once the project is put into operation, it will create jobs for hundreds of local workers and help promote socioeconomic development in Dak Lak. He said his company was ready to cooperate with domestic and foreign investors to develop this project. Located in Buon Ma Thuot city, the capital of the Central Highlands, the Phu Xuan Trading Centre will be an ideal location for investors, especially retailers, in Dak Lak province.

In manufacturing, Phu Xuan will build a fresh concrete factory and concrete spraying platforms to meet growing construction demand in the Central Highlands.
In response to the policy of socialising the education sector in the province, Phu Xuan Company decided to invest in the building of Nguyen Chi Thanh High School with 38 well-equipped classrooms. The number of students increased every year, from 360 students in the 2002-2003 academic year to 2,000 this school year. Teachers are experienced, dedicated and inspiring. The graduation rate is 85 percent of final year students, and 35 percent enter university.

Mr Luu added the company will invest more in human resources and equipment to become a strong construction company. Phu Xuan also calls for cooperation from domestic and international investors to do business in Dak Lak and the Central Highlands in general.
