Important Contribution to Socio-economic Development

Dak Lak province has an industrial park and three industrial complexes. Although newly formed, they have attracted many investors, making an important contribution to local socioeconomic development and creating thousands of local jobs.
Hoa Phu Industrial Park, about 14 km from Buon Ma Thuot City, was the first industrial park in Dak Lak province. Set up in October 2008, it has so far attracted four operating projects with a combined investment of more than VND211 billion (US$11 million). Besides, five others are building production facilities and three others expect to locate their business there.

Objectively, it is not a success of Dak Lak province to attract only more than 10 projects into its industrial park. However, this can be considered an acceptable outcome for a province in the Central Highlands region where there are many limitations and obstacles in connecting with major economic centres in the country like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

To improve the efficiency of attracted capital to uphold its result, Dak Lak Industrial Zones Authority is determined to assist investors to deal with any problems. The Authority will work with provincial authorities to resolve any difficulties.

Mr Tran Hau Anh, Director of the Dak Lak Industrial Zones Authority, said: In addition to four operating projects, five other projects are building their production infrastructure. The Dak Lak Industrial Zones Authority will endeavour to create favourable conditions for operating enterprises to boost their performance, while helping new investors to build and put into operation their factories on schedule, to ensure quality, create local jobs and contribute to the State Budget. For newly licensed investors, the authority will help them complete investment procedures to build their factories in industrial parks.

With its advantages, Dak Lak expects to increase investment in the coming time. To meet increasing investment demand and create a stronger impetus for provincial socioeconomic development, Dak Lak province is planning to build Tan An 2, Ea H'Leo and Krong Buk industrial complexes, each with some 50 hectares.
