Located in the paddy fields of Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang province – Vietnam’s biggest rice granary - Viet Hung Co., Ltd is endowed with favourable natural conditions to boost its capacity of rice production and export.
Viet Hung was set up in 1992 with initial capital of only VND600 million. In 1997, it was upgraded to Viet Hung Co., Ltd. Since its early days, fully aware of its role and its mission, Viet Hung Company has focused on scaling up its capacity to produce, supply and export rice. This is the foundation for the development of the company.
Focusing on prestige and quality, the company always purchases high-quality rice in Tien Giang, Vinh Long, An Giang, Soc Trang and other provinces. It also expands its capacity to husk, transport and store rice for export.
With proper orientation, endless perseverance, intensive investment in modern production lines, equipment and technologies and meticulous preparation for inputs and outputs, Viet Hung has become a top rice exporter in Vietnam.
To date, Viet Hung has two rice husking plants with a combined daily capacity of 300 tonnes, three rice polishing plants with a total daily capacity of 800 tonnes, and five rice ships with a total load capacity of 4,200 tonnes. In 2005, the company opened a 2,000 square metre warehouse, raising its storage area to 12,000 square metres, with total capacity of 18,000 tonnes.
These facilities enabled Viet Hung to increase the supply and export volume from 120,000 tonnes to 150,000 tonnes of rice a year, while improving the value of exported rice from Tien Giang province and the Mekong Delta. The company also is investing to build a 5-hectare factory in Long An province to expand its operations. Viet Hung has gradually asserted its name on the domestic and international rice markets with its world-class products.
