The state-owned Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) targets to produce 60 million tons of coal by 2015.

The country’s top miner expects its revenues will grow between 15% and 20% per year and its industrial production output will rise 10% a year during the period.

Vinacomin targets its power generation capacity at between 3,000 MW and 3,500 MW in the next five years.

The group plans to gradually restructure its units and affiliates and will set up companies to carry out its new projects on electricity, bauxite and minerals.

This year, Vinacomin targets to produce 47 million to 50 million tons of coal and export 18 million tons of the fossil fuel.

Vietnam is forecast to have to start importing coal after 2015, although it is still boosting coal exports. (tinnhanhchungkhoan.vn)
