Vietnam Imports from U.S. Soar to US$2.02B in Jan-July

Vietnam imported US$2.02 billion worth of goods from the U.S. in the first seven months of this year, soaring 34.36% from a year earlier.
 
The Southeast Asian nation spent US$297.2 million on importing goods from the U.S. in July, falling 2.3% on-month and 3.2% on-year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website.
 
The country’s main imports were machinery, equipment and spare parts worth US$433.85 million, up 9.86% on-year, animal feed worth US$282.63 million, up 189.47% and cotton worth US$133.51 million, up 22.51%.
 
The Vietnamese General Department of Customs forecast the bilateral trade will surge to US$19 billion and US$20 billion in 2010. (Vinanet)
