Fastener Factory No. 2 was established in 1964 with the main business scope of producing bolts and nuts, and was merged with Industrial Equipment Trading Company in 1999. This merger brought the company a new vitality.

Internal strength
After more than 40 years on the market, its TH-trademarked products have always confirmed the prestige of the company in the domestic market. This was proven by impressive business results. In the first year of merger, the factory had a turnover of only VND5 billion but it earned nearly VND64 billion in 2007 and VND80 billion in 2008. Markedly, Fastener Factory No. 2 honourably supplied products to large-scale projects like Sao Mai cement plant, Tay Ninh Bourbon Sugar Company, 500-KV North - South electric lines, Ham Thuan – Da My - Phu Lam hydropower plants, Phu My - Nha Be - Phu Lam power plants, Phu My fertiliser plant and 500-KV Pleiku - Da Nang - Thuong Tin transmission line. In addition, the Factory also exports its products to foreign companies. Specially, the Factory has recently provided materials for Phu My Bridge, Can Tho Bridge, Dung Quat Economic Zone, East-West Boulevard and hoped to provide specialised equipment for the Metro project in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.

Synchronous infrastructure, modern machine and equipment, automatic cold forming and hot-dip galvanization lines, etc. enable the Factory to produce more than 5,000 tonnes of products a year

Together with accumulated experience enthusiasm of all staffs, the Fastener Factory No. 2 can compete with any rivals in domestic and international markets with its high-quality products, which are annually voted the Vietnamese High Quality Products by consumers. Being fully aware that human resources play a crucial role in the development process, the factory’s leaders always attach much importance to treating talents and creating favourable conditions for managers and employees to improve their professional skills. To strengthen the loyalty of its staffs, the Factory often sends them to Cao Thang Technical School to acquire higher training and improve working techniques. The Board of Directors also facilitates them to follow higher education (currently, seven staffs have graduated the university, six are following the course, and 20 others are learning other continuation courses). In addition to these, the Factory has increased the average monthly income of a staff to VND5 million while ensuring all rights and interests of its staffs under the Labour Code.

Asserting brand value
In an attempt to put an end to fraud products, the Fastener Factory No. 2 has registered its TAHU trademarks with the National Office of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology and has been certified the ISO 9001:2009 quality management compliance certificate by Quacert.

In the past time, construction contractor usually lays too much emphasis on costs, not quality and origin of products, leading to massive importation of bolts, nuts, screws and rivets, while domestic companies are oversupplying. Therefore, Fastener Factory No. 2 expects the State to give more supports and introduce appropriate industry development strategies.

Mr Nguyen Van Quang, Director of Fastener Factory No. 2, said his company will improve its capacity to meet the expanding domestic demand and seek export markets for its key products used for such industries as electricity, machinery installation, construction, automobile, shipbuilding, railways, oil and gas, subway, bridge, water supply and energy. He pointed out that the current production capacity of bolts, nuts and screws in Vietnam is very big but it remains ineffectively exploited. Thus, the company expects to forge long-term cooperation with domestic and international investors for mutual benefits and development.
