Vietnam-ASEAN Trade Rises to $21.5B in Jan-Oct

Trade between Vietnam and the ASEAN increased to $21.5 billion in the first ten months of this year, including the former’s trade gap of $4.7 billion, the government’s General Statistics Office said.
 
Vietnam’s exports rose 18% on-year to $8.4 billion during the period with major exports of rice worth $1.4 billion, crude oil worth $1.3 billion and petroleum products worth $567 million, the GSO said in a monthly report released on November 29.
 
The country spent $13.1 billion on imports from the bloc between Jan and Oct, up 22% on-year, including petroleum products of $2.4 billion, and machinery and equipment of $802 million.
 
In early April, the Ministry of Industry and Trade forecast Vietnam would export $8.88 billion worth of goods to the ASEAN this year. (GSO Nov 2010)
