Vinashin Unit Hands over 225 TEU Container Ship for Local Partner
Nha Trang Shipbuilding Industry Company, a unit of Vietnam Business Group (Vinashin) has delivered a 225 TEU container ship for Southern Shipbuilding Industry Investment Development Co., Ltd.
Container Vinashin Southern 5, which is 100 meters long, 16 meters wide and 7.35 meters high, is designed to travel at 11.4 nautical miles per hour.
Nha Trang shipbuilder has handed over 25 ships for foreign and domestic partners so far this year. It plans to build a 250TEU container ship for Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) next year.
In 2011, the shipbuilding company also expects to build and repair about 15 vessels in move to gain industrial production value of VND75 billion and create jobs for 300 workers. (VoVNews)
