HCM City CPI Likely Up 1.01% in Jan: Report
Ho Chi Minh City’s consumer price index in January is estimated to have increased 1.01% from December, driven by higher costs of housing and electricity, fuels and construction materials, the municipal Statistics Office said.
The index was up 9.29% from a year earlier, the office said.
In January, prices of housing and electricity, fuel and construction materials rose above 2% and other commodities, excluding post and telecom services and entertainment services, saw prices up between 0.1% and 1.35%.
Foods and foodstuff services posted on-month rise of 1.35%, in which foods prices were up 1.12% and foodstuff services up 1.85%.
Prices of cultural, entertainment and tourism Services fell 0.01% while post and telecom services prices stayed almost unchanged.
Gold and U.S. dollar, however, decreased by 0.03% and 0.78% on-month, respectively. (Vietnamplus)
