China Import and Export Fair
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has recently coordinated with the China Foreign Trade Centre, Economic and Commercial Counseller Chamber, Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and Viet - China Development Investment Joint Stock Company to host a introductory conference on the Vietnam - China economic and trading development trend and the 109th China Import & Export Fair in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi.
According to Chen Chao Ren, Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Centre, Chinese Ministry of Commerce, this fair is also called "Guangzhou Fair" which was initiated in 1957 and now is one of largest fairs in China at present. Each fair usually attracts more than 20,000 Chinese exhibitors which showcase over 150,000 kinds of goods and draws around 200,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and territories in the world.
The 109th Guangzhou Fair, which is set to take place from April 15 to May 5, 2011 in Guangzhou, is divided into three sessions with estimated 58,000 booths and 1.1-million square metre exhibition area. This expo will focus on optimising product structures and encouraging green high-tech products to improve the quality of exported products.
“We would like to invite all Vietnamese enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, to participate in the exhibition, particularly import area," Mr Chen said. He added that more than 3,000 companies from 80 countries and territories in the world registered to join the fair. Some Vietnamese products like foodstuffs, agricultural products, electrical and electronics appliances, consumer goods, etc have entered the Chinese market and favoured by customers. In the past five fairs, about 13,000 Vietnamese visitors came to the fair.
