Vietnam, Laos to Boost Special Ties
Vietnam Laos special relationship is invaluable and should be preserved and transferred to the next generations, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet at his meeting with visiting Lao PM Thongsing Thammavong.
State President Triet expressed his pleasure at the fine developments of the bilateral ties, which have been deepened and become more effective and practical.
Vietnam always attaches importance to and will do its utmost to expand the special ties, confirmed the Vietnamese leader.
The State leader also appraised the neighboring country’s important achievements in its renewal process, saying he believed that the Laotian people would continue to achieve more results and turn Laos into a peaceful, independent, democratic and prosperous country.
He hoped that Laos will successfully organize its ninth National Party Congress and the seventh National Assembly election.
PM Thammavong stressed that the visit is an opportunity to consolidate and enhance the friendship and close relations between the two Parties, States and people.
The guest informed State President Triet about Laos’ preparations for its ninth National Party Congress and the seventh National Assembly election as well as the results of his talks with PM Nguyen Tan Dung.
Expressing his gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, State and people’s assistance to Laos revolutionary cause, PM Thammavong said that the Laotian Party, State and people would spare no effort to enrich the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
