Vietnam to Export Nearly 2 Mln Tonnes of Rice in Q2
Vietnam will export nearly 2 million tonnes of rice in the second quarter of the year, bringing total rice exports to a record high of 3.85 million tonnes by the end of June, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).
The current national stockpile of rice is only 56% of that in the same period last year, so local companies are hastening to buy rice to meet export needs.
Domestic rice prices are now fluctuating around VND5,800 - 6,000 per kilogram which should ensure healthy profits for farmers.
