Sixty percent of enterprises will use e-tax services by 2015 and the rate will reach 90% by 2020, according to a strategy freshly approved by the PM.

The strategy on tax reform system in the period of 2011-2020 aims to make the Vietnamese tax sector develop in modern and effective manner and ensures consistent and transparent tax management.

The strategy targets to raise the percentage of tax collected from internal sources (excluding crude oil) to over 70% and 80% of the total State budget in 2015 and 2020, respectively.

According to the strategy, Vietnam will strive to simplify tax processing procedures to be one of five leading countries in Southeast Asia in terms of sound tax policies.

By 2020, at least 65% of businesses will process tax procedures online, according to the strategy.

To fulfill these goals, the strategy sets to modernize tax management work, streamline administrative procedures in accordance with international standards, improve manpower quality, provide better services for tax payers and beef up IT and e-tax applications.
