VECOM Convenes Second Congress

The Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) convened the congress for the second term in the capital city of Hanoi on May 26, 2011. Set up in 2007, VECOM has admitted 108 members which are operating in IT and e-commerce fields like IDT, V&V, VDC and Smartlink.
 
VECOM has made significant contributions to e-commerce development in Vietnam, expanded its operating scales and memberships, contributed ideas to e-commerce and IT policies, and created a forum for e-commerce users to cooperate, exchange experience and strengthen relationships with domestic and international banking associations.
 
VECOM cooperated with the APEC Digital Opportunity Centre (ADOC) to establish the APEC - Vietnam E-commerce Training Centre. This year, ADOC plans to sponsor equipment for this training centre.
 
VECOM elected the Second-term Executive Board consisting of 17 members. Mr Le Danh Vinh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, was elected the president of the second term.
