Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company was set up in 1960 and went public in 2005. The dramatic shift from the old, well-known but outdated products to market targeted PVC, PEHD and other plastic tubes quickly made the company a major producer of plastic tubes on the market.
Affirming product quality
Grasping market demand, Tien Phong Plastic boldly boosted investment in new products. PVC, PEHD and PPR plastic tubes are used for water supply and drainage in civil, industrial, agricultural and other fields. The company quickly dominated the market with high-quality products and competitive prices.
With the motto, "Putting quality on top, ensuring legitimate rights of consumers," Tien Phong Plastic brand has spread strongly throughout the domestic market. The company has six sales centres and nearly 300 sales agents nationwide. Currently, Tien Phong Plastic holds 70 - 80 percent of plastic tube market share in northern Vietnam. After going public, the company made great progress, with revenues rising from 20 to 30 percent annually. In 2010, all business norms increased over 2009. Revenues grew 30 percent to reach VND1,940 billion, profit before tax was VND375 billion, and contributions to the State Budget hit VND243 billion (for years Tien Phong Plastic has been the biggest taxpayer in the northern port city of Hai Phong).
To have highest product quality, inputs are strictly monitored. All machines and facilities are imported from countries with advanced plastic pipe industries like Germany, Austria and South Korea. The company also invests to replace old equipment and machinery every year (with VND60 billion in 2010) in order to improve production capacity. Sales and input stockpiling policies are deployed reasonably. In addition, the company focuses on developing new markets. In 2010, Southern Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company attained revenues of VND160 billion. In Laos, Tien Phong - SMP Plastic Joint Venture Limited has also begun stable and effective operation. The company continues investing to expand production premises in Duong Kinh district (Hai Phong city) by 13.5 hectares to scale up production capacity to meet the market demand.
