Delta International Logistics Co., Ltd is a logistics service provider in Vietnam; thus, since its inception, the management board has always defined that logistics is a service sector and added value for customers is just the quality of services for them. So, Delta International Logistics Co., Ltd does not put the profit target on top of everything but the trust of customers matters most.
Currently, the logistics industry is developing robustly and more and more companies are joining this industry. In addition, when Vietnam entered the World Trade Organisation (WTO), it had to open the industry for wholly foreign-owned companies which have better capital, infrastructure, operating scale, management level, and customer base than Vietnamese companies. As a result, the competition in the logistics industry will intensify fiercely, forcing Vietnamese companies to renovate and find out own ways to survive competition.
Mr Dinh Van Hung, Director of Delta International Logistics Co., Ltd, said: "The key to success in the logistic industry is to ensure the quality of services and create the trust of customers. As this is a service sector, human resources decides the quality of services. Being fully aware of this importance, our company frequently organises regular training sources to supplement professional knowledge for our staff, always take care of their livelihoods, generate a good working atmosphere and environment to and strengthen their attachment to the company. Moreover, in a dynamic market economy like Vietnam now, to survive and develop, Delta International Logistics has to increase investments in infrastructure to expand the scope of services and ensure the competitiveness to meet demanding requirements from customers. This is an inevitable move for any logistics companies in Vietnam as they will soon have to compete directly with foreign rivals on the home market.
In addition to investing in infrastructure and building up personnel capacity, Delta International Logistics has always focused on building the brand because this decides the success or failure of a company. A good name will be an advantage of Delta International Logistics on domestic and international markets. However, to support the sustainable development of logistics companies in general and Delta in particular, the company needs more supports from leaders of Hai Phong City.
Mr Hung added Hai Phong City has the largest port system in the northern region. This is a big advantage for investors but investment attraction is not very good in recent years. Thus, to exploit its advantages, the city should introduce more preferential policies for investors, simplify administrative procedures relating to investment licensing, land leasing, offer preferential taxes for investors, streamline customs procedures, and create a good and stable investment environment. Then, the city will attract more investors into the logistics industry.
