On May 18, 2011, the groundbreaking ceremony of Kosy- Song Cong new urban area was held in Song Cong town’s Thang Loi ward in Thai Nguyen province. The project, conducted by Kosy Joint Stock Company, is planned comprehensively with total investment of VND300 billion. The work is expected to be completed in 30 months.
Kosy Joint Stock Company is a business operating in education and training; mining and mineral processing; construction and real estate. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Chairman cum General Director of Kosy said since the first days of establishment, the company has offered a development strategy and specific goals in order to develop into a multi-sectorial economic group. In fact, Kosy has gained significant achievements in almost all of the fields. In the field of education, Kosy has opened vocational training courses to create human forces for localities, particularly for northern mountain provinces. By doing that, the company has helped ethnic minority youths get qualified education right in their hometown. For the construction and real estate, Kosy has conducted successfully many programs and projects such as the seven-hectare new urban area in Lao Cai city; the office and housing complex covering over 5,000 square meters in Hanoi’s Tu Liem district. The company and Germany’s IBG also set up a joint venture to build the Fhenspa processing plant in Lao Cai province’s Bao Thang district.
The new urban area named Kosy-Song Cong is the first project of Kosy in Thai Nguyen province. The company’s leadership has found that apart from potentials to develop industries, Song Cong town is full of advantages to attract outside resources, especially it has been recognized as the third-grade urban by the government. After lots of researches and surveys of business opportunities, Kosy decided to invest a new urban area here. Under the planning map approved by the town people’s committee, the Kosy – Song Cong urban area with an area of nearly 40 hectares will be a modern, green and clean urban area. The project aims at providing houses for 5,500 inhabitants, contributing to solve the housing demand of locals.
Being the first one of its kind in Song Cong town, the project will help complete the master urban planning for the town. The urban area will have the transportation network connected thoroughly and ensure the systems of electricity, water supply as well as other facilities. The project also include villas, abutting houses, school, kindergartens, trade center, park and entertainment areas. As completed, the Kosy- Song Cong urban area will become the model one of Song Cong town in particular and the province of Thai Nguyen in general, contributing to bring the Song Cong town into a busy city in the future.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Tran Van Son emphasized with its network of technical and social facilities meeting the demand of a model urban area, the Kosy- Song Cong urban area will create a character in the urban picture and improve the life of locals. The Deputy Minister also required the investor and contractor to ensure the process as well as quality of the work in order to gain the high economic efficiency.
Vu Hong Bac, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen province, believed that the new urban area will bring a new face and contribute to boost the development of the Song Cong town. In his speech, Mr Cuong pledged the project will follow the construction time, ensure the quality and labor safety. One of the commitments is to make the project environmental-friendly and healthy to the people.
