Germany Supports Central Vietnam to Prevent Natural Disasters

Germany continues to support Vietnam to improve community-based natural disaster prevention in Thua Thien - Hue provinces in the next 18 months.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany will grant 150,000 euro (US$210,000) to help the province cope with natural disasters.
 
The project, to be carried by both Germany and Vietnam Red Cross, aims to assist six districts and 36 communes in Thua Thien-Hue province to tackle natural disasters. Groups, responsible for natural disaster control, will be formed, trained for search and rescue missions, and equipped with life saving equipment.
 
In addition, students and teachers from 15 schools in the districts and communes will also attend these training courses and will be equipped with essential equipment for natural disaster control.
 
The aid is serving an important role in enhancing the natural disaster prevention in central Vietnam.
