Open Mechanisms for Vietnam Wind Power Development

Recently, the Government of Vietnam made a decision on support mechanisms for the development of wind power projects in Vietnam.

 

The Government will provide funds for the formulation, evaluation, publication and adjustment of national wind power projects. Provinces and cities will provide funds to the formulation, evaluation, publication and adjustment of local projects. In addition, the Government encourages the mobilisation of various sources of capital for planning wind power development.

 

The new decision also allows wind power projects to benefit from low interest rates, free tariffs on equipment and material imports, and a reduction on corporate tax.
