Mr. Chainarong Limpkittisin, Managing Director of Reed Tradex said that a fast growing of foreign investors lead to an expansion of Vietnam industrial manufacturing, especially the local production has been growing in recent year. In 2010, an import of machinery instrument and accessories were approximately US$13.7 billion while the imports of electronics, computer and spare parts were US$5.2 billion, parts and accessories for motor were US$1.93 billion, and assembled motorcycles and parts and accessories for motorcycles was US$898 million according to General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO). This means local industrial production in terms of subcontracting in automotive, electronic, and heavy industry are sustainably expanded during the last year.
The FDI sector has taken a rather large part in the high growth of expansion with 17.2% and the production value of the manufacturing increased by 14.9% in 2010.
The growth rate and expansion of industrial parks in Hanoi have reflected that Vietnam’s industrial sector is the key driver for the national economy. Specifically, Vietnam’s industry is clearly strong in its road map plans. It is widely open to international manufacturing technologies for exports, as well as has continuous competitiveness in heavy industries e.g. automotive, information technology, textiles, electronics, steel and iron, ship building and construction sectors. The real factors that have made it all happen for Vietnamese manufacturing is the transfer of technologies and knowledge.
A major concern of the Vietnamese government is trade deficit; in other words, the country needs to up their industrial production for export while relying more on its supporting industries. Hence, this is the right moment for many corporations to prepare their businesses for revolving orders, and that the quality development should be focused. Consequently, modern manufacturing innovations and technologies are truly needed.
Aiming to provide strategic guidelines for effective business and industrial planning for industrial in Vietnam in order to maximize opportunities that the economy is presenting, we would like to invite businessmen and Vietnamese industrialists to attend Vietnam Manufacturing and Supporting Industries Forum on Thursday 11 August 2011 during 14.00 – 16.00 hrs, at Function Room I Melia Hanoi Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam.
