Singer My Linh Named Honorary Ambassador for S. Korean Tourism

On July 26, 2011, star singer My Linh was appointed the Honorary Tourism Ambassador for South Korea in Vietnam by the Tourism and Cultural Department of the South Korean Embassy.
 
This appointment aims to promote South Korean tourism in Vietnam.
 
Mr Lim Hyung Taek, Head of the Korea National Tourism Organisation in Hanoi, said: During her term as an ambassador, My Linh will take part in various big events and activities to be held by the Korea National Tourism Organisation with the aim of promoting Korean tourism in Vietnam. Besides, the Vietnamese diva will participate in events relating to tourism in South Korea.
 
The Tourism and Cultural Department of the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam said some 100,000 Vietnamese tourists visit South Korea a year. Arrivals to this East Asian nation has risen 20 percent so far this year. The bilateral relations are thriving, powered by 88 flights between the two countries a week.
 
The Korea National Tourism Organisation has to date named several honorary ambassadors in such countries as Japan, China, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Singapore, Thailand and India.
