Mr. Chainarong Limpkittisin, Managing Director of Reed Tradex, one of Thailand’s and Indochina’s leading exhibition and conference organizers revealed that recently, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a national program entitled “Developing High Technology Till 2020.” Under this program, the country will have some 500 enterprises providing hi-tech products and services by 2020. The program will focus on developing four hi-tech industries, namely information and communication technology (ICT), biotechnology, automatic technology and new material technology.

Regarding ICT, Vietnam will focus on developing microchips, basic software and technologies that ensure the operation of modern telecom infrastructure, new-generation Internet network and manufacture of terminals. The proportion of hi-tech value in the country’s industrial production is expected at 30 percent by 2015 and 40 percent by 2020.

Otherwise, from Vietnam Consumer Electronics Report Q2 2011, Vietnam's consumer electronics devices market, including computing devices, mobile handsets and video as well as audio and gaming products, is projected to be worth about USD4.7 billion in 2011, and further increases to USD6.9 billion by 2015. This particular market is forecast to expand at an overall compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10 percent through 2015, with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City accounting for most sales.Specifically, Vietnamese domestic market computer hardware sales (including notebooks and accessories) aim to reach USD1.5 billion in 2011, up from USD 1.4 billion last year.

Meanwhile, Vietnam's domestic audio, video and gaming device market is forecast at USD1.2 billion in 2011. The market is expected to earn USD 2.1 billion by 2015. “Hence, this is the right moment for many corporations to prepare their businesses for revolving orders, and that the quality development should be focused. These growing investment trends in Vietnam, especially in the electronics industry, are sparking up higher needs for more and newer manufacturing technologies to deliver more quality outputs at better cost efficiency. And invest in the right tool, “NEPCON Vietnam 2011,” Vietnam’s Only Electronics Parts Manufacturing Event, part of world-renowned NEPCON series.

The latest edition of “NEPCON Vietnam 2010” in the last May in Hanoi was well-attended by a total of 7,863 manufacturing industrialists from across Vietnam and 20 other countries including Australia, China, Japan, Korea and USA. Obviously, their business objectives were met as they had found the new technologies and knowledge they were looking for, here in this exhibition. This Year NEPCON Vietnam 2011 will be organize during this 6-8 October at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh Parkway, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Here in this nationally acclaimed industry platform, up to 200 leading brands from 25 countries are proud to present their state-of-the-art machinery showcases to over 8,000 industrialists who come to visit and nourish themselves with new production technology.

Some of the international top class brands already confirmed of their presence include TransTechnology, Keyence and Ceracote, just to name a few. Apart from the exhibitor side, there will also be international delegation from Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore, China, Thailand and many other countries to create truly dynamic market place, and a great venue for profitable business matchmaking.

We believe that NEPCON Vietnam will not only answer to their requirements but will also introduce new concepts, new trends, and new ideas, which will be complemented by new technologies and experts who can help them move forward and strengthen Vietnamese electronics supporting industry in the process.

In addition to the technological experiences the visitors will gain from the exhibits, they will also benefit from new knowledge and networking opportunities in the shows’ concurrent activities such as “20 sessions of Technology Presentations,” “Business Matchmaking” a service that will match local subcontractors with overseas manufacturers for possible business partnership, and “Agent Wanted” which will help global brand providers find local agents. After the event, the level of electronics manufacturing industry should be up and there should be more electronics parts and components manufactured inside the country rather than importing them,” concluded Chainarong.
