Biggest E-commerce Deal Signed
Two leading information technology companies, namely Nhommua (
www.nhommua.com) and Diadiem (
www.diadiem.com), officially merged with MJ Group in Ho Chi Minh City on September 7, 2011.
The merger came from a deal signed by IDG Ventures Vietnam, Rebate Networks and Ru-net which pledged an investment of US$60 million into MJ, a new business group in Vietnam that promotes e-commerce.
This is biggest e-commerce deal in Vietnam to date. MJ also includes Two.vn, a mobile applications company, and Two Media, an online advertising expert.
Mr Tom Tran, General Director of MJ Group, said, “We will aggressively aim to hire at least 1,000 new employees within the next 12 months, not only in technical and management functions but also in administration and support.”
Diadiem.com, created in 2003, is a leading location and navigation services provider in Vietnam, with over 1.5 million visits.
Nhommua.com, set up in October 2010, is a popular online commerce platform in the country.
