National Single Window Customs Mechanism to Be Piloted
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has decided to implement on a trial basis the national single window customs mechanism for exports, imports, transit goods and means of transport on entry, exit or transit in the period 2011- 2014.
The national single window customs mechanism is an integrated system allowing all stakeholders involved in importation and exportation to submit or send standardised information and documents to the single processing unit.
The mechanism will be also applied to importers and exporters which have engaged in electronic customs.
Vietnam will build up legal documents and procedures, prepare information technology infrastructure, and construct national single window customs information technology systems.
The pilot single window customs mechanism includes a list of procedures and the use of e-payments for taxes and fees through commercial banks will be based on links between state agencies and the banks.
The mechanism also lays the necessary groundwork for the implementation of information exchanges on certificates of origin in line with the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement.
