The 20-year span of construction and development crystallises the dedication and effort of the entire staff of DETECH -Technology Development Supporting Joint Stock Company. DETECH has gradually expanded and won the trust of domestic and international customers. In a near future, the company will rise to become a leading multi-business company in Vietnam, with a focus on science and technology.
In its 20 long years overcoming all difficulties and challenges, DETECH has attained significant achievements. From a four-man company with a start-up capital of VND10 million in 1991, DETECH now has 10 affiliated companies with more than 600 employees (90 percent of workers graduated from college levels upwards) and a total capital of VND300 billion. Currently, DETECH is engaged in many science and technology areas like carrying out intellectual property services, designing technology, manufacturing equipment, installing water treatment and environmental systems, manufacturing spare parts, assembling automobiles and motorcycles, constructing urban and industrial zones, trading real estate, and manufacturing and trading functional foods, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Getting through numerous hardships in 2010, DETECH achieved remarkable results in business and in social activities. Revenues rose nearly 20 percent from 2009. The firm enjoyed impressive achievements in motorcycle and real estate business, notably, it relocated its head office to the 17-storey DETECH Tower, covering nearly 11,000 sq. metres and put into service in August 2011. Especially in March 2010, the DETECH Lucas Language Centre was opened and has brought about positive results. In 2011, DETECH is striving to keep the growth momentum of 2010.
The today stature of DETECH is built on the dynamism and acumen of its management. Along with its focus on business, the company’s management puts a premium on human factors. Employees are carefully trained with professional knowledge and skills. DETECH is also an active participant in social development activities. The company has presented gifts to sick children on International Children’s Day, June 1, in hospitals in Hanoi for years. Although the value of this support is humble, its significance is immeasurable as it represents care for younger generations. At a philanthropy tour in Saint Paul (Xanh Pon) Hospital, Hanoi on May 31, 2011, Ms Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Deputy General Director of DETECH, said: “The full development of both physical and mental quality of children is the foundation for the development of our country. DETECH has created really high-quality effective products to improve health and develop the minds of children in Vietnam.”
Currently, DETECH is focusing all its resources on upgrading DETECH into an economic group with many different business fields.
Mr Dao Van Tam, President of DETECH -Technology Development Supporting Joint Stock Company, has led his company since its inception more than 20 years ago, experiencing ups and downs to reach the current success. But he always links the company’s success to the unity, consensus and efforts of all members of the company. He said, “I do not like risky business. I want to take firm, careful steps, although it takes longer. My company always attaches importance to human resource development, as it plays a decisive role in the success or failure of our company. The staff must have good morality, knowledge and devotion to keep the development growth for the company."
