Taxation Service Set for Reform

The General Department of Taxation has announced four major solutions for administrative reform in the taxation service.

Accordingly, from October 1, 2004, taxation agencies will transmit tax codes to customs agencies after these codes are provided for enterprises. This will help shorten the time for tax code granting by 15 days.

Concerning invoices, enterprises will be able to print invoices and register them with taxation agencies where they are based. For those enterprises that do not print invoices after being granted with tax codes will not have to go through the procedures again. This means that four documents for this procedure are removed.

Regarding tax refunding, the refunding will be carried out before the examination by authorities for those enterprises that have correctly implemented their tax obligations in the past. The general department has pledged to promote its guidelines so that tax refunding will be implemented in the time as stipulated. The current deadline for tax refunds stands at three days for ODA projects and 15 days (working days) for other projects after eligible documents are received.
