Hue to Host 13th World Conference of Historical Cities

 The 13th World Conference of Historical Cities will be held in the central tourism hub-Thua Thien Hue -from April 16-18, 2012 following the Hue Festival.
 
The event, entitled “Defining Universal Heritage Challenges and Solutions,” will feature various activities, including a youth seminar, a round-table debate on how the youth would do to promote traditional cultural values.
 
There will also be an exhibition on historical cities as part of the event to introduce the preservation and restoration of heritages at historical cities.
 
The first World Conference of Historical Cities was held in Kyoto, Japan in 1987, with the participation of 26 cities from 25 countries worldwide.
 
Up to now, this organization groups 88 cities of 56 countries, including Hanoi and Hue cities which became members in 2006.
