Indonesia and Vietnam Ink Construction Agreement

The Indonesian National Contractors' Association (GAPENSI) and the Vietnam Association of Contractors' Association (VACC) signed an agreement in Hanoi on August 2 in order to promote cooperation in construction between Vietnam and Indonesia.

GAPENSI is the largest and oldest corporation in Indonesia with 67,000 construction companies, which are all members of the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the National Construction Services Development Agency (LPJKN).

The two associations began to exchange information after the visit to VACC by GAPENSI in June. This has laid the ground work for future cooperation between the two associations in projects in Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as in other countries. A further understanding to boost cooperation in education and other activities will help improve the quality and techniques in design and construction of members of the two associations.

Witnessing the signing of the agreement, Artauli R.M.P. Tubing, Indonesian ambassador to Vietnam, said that she was very happy to be present at the signing ceremony and hoped that the event would create more opportunities for enterprises operating in construction between Indonesia and Vietnam by promoting information, project and research exchange to contribute to the successful completion of the development targets of the two countries.
