On the occasion of the International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC) initiated by the UNESCO, the Germany-based specialty chemicals group, Lanxess, has announced its partnership with the Science Film Festival to be held in Vietnam and Cambodia.

Eighteen films from six European and Asian countries will be screened in cities of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Hue, HCM City and Can Tho, as well as five other provinces from November 11 to 30, 2011.

Launched in Thailand in 2005 by the German learning institution Goethe-Institut, the film festival is a cultural and educational initiative presenting European and Asian films that communicate technological, ecological and scientific issues in an entertaining way to a young Asian audience.
