PVI Holdings Announces Strategic Partner
PetroVietnam Insurance Joint Stock Corporation, or PVI Holdings, on November 15 held a ceremony to announce Germany’s Talanx as its strategic foreign partner.
After the ceremony, PVI Insurance Corporation wholly owned by PVI Holdings signed a strategic cooperation agreement with HDI-Gerling Indusstrie Versicherung AG, a member of Talanx Group, making PVI become an important link in Talanx’s global chain.
Under the agreement, HDI – Gerling has bought a 25 percent stake in PVI Holdings for around VND1.91 trillion (US$65 million).
The two sides have pledged to cooperate in securities and financial services.
According to Jens Wohlthat, an official from HDI – Gerling, Talanx Group will transfer technology and experience for PVI, particularly in the areas of re-insurance, non-life insurance as well as plans to expand operations outside the country.
